i have just recently aquired a 1967 firebird big block car what i need to know is how do i tell if the cars motor is original where i get a hood tach from can fender and bumper pats be switched between the 67-68 -69cars heres a pic
Welcome to the site. I have owned a 67 and a 68 and if memmory serves me the fenders, hood and trunk lid and bumpers will iinterchange between 67 and 68. Check out Year One for firebird parts. They show a repo hood tach.
Fenders swap but are different.. Like most manufacturers, side marker lamps were included on '68 cars!.
Look on the front of the motor to the pass side of the waterpump for the engine code.. Not sure but I think '68 may've been the first year for sequential Vin stampings?.
Have you sent your car's Vin to PHS or Canada Vintage services yet?. Both provide great info of equipment shipped w/ your car when new and more!

Welcome to the site....I believe 1969 was a year in itself, so I think you are looking 67-68 only. As for parts here is a link to a parts supplier, I am sure they will have what you need.. http://performanceyears.com/Catalogs.asp

gasoline alley will have what you need. 67-69 basically same car underneith, 67/8 fenders should go, 69 you would need the front clip. Motors are the same, mounts changed in 70.
