This car comes up for sale often, wonder why?  Interesting that it has been "restored to factory condition". I wonder which factory. No Grand Parisienne ever left Oshawa in 1966 with US Pontiac Rally II Wheels. All this aside it sure looks like a beauty.

Yes... I think a little free licence was taken on this one, as the front fender emblems are incorrect...It should have the (Grande Parisienne) at the upper frount of the fender, the (GP) in the grill was a U.S. thing...the Canadian cars came with (Pontiac) in the drivers side grill...maybe not a completely correct Canadian car but none the less a Very Very nice car !! I would love to run the tag to see just what the factory options were for this car and the build date!!...Does anyone know if this car was added to the registry or not?

It is one sweet looking car. Stick shift to boot.

Is this gentleman on the forum? Vinnie Jr. do you know this car?

Sure would like to see some pictures of the restoration, and of the interior.

Hey Todd, can you move this to the Canadian Pontiacs for sale blog.smile

He has been on here a couple of times, one being the last time someone posted the ad.

Also, he has the documentation from GM for this car.

And yes, I still would love to own it!!!

Now do all '66 Grand Parisiennes come with that stainless steel trim below the body crease line or is that the '65 or '66 2 + 2's that have that?

It should have a narrow band right on the lower body line, about 3/4" wide and that is it.

Not that wide lower band like the US counterpart.

I much prefer the Canadian trimming on the 66.

Now, are the rear fender skirts a standard item on this car, or an option?

I believe they were standard. Every one I've ever owned (likely about 7 or 8) has had the brackets there for the skirts.

I think people just got tired of putting them on and taking them off.

Not to be a real nitpicker but as you guys have pointed out it tries to look  like a Grande Prix not a Grande Parisienne, and from what i can see the aircleaner sure isn't correct so what else isn't "factory correct" I wonder?

Still Carl, its pretty easy to fix all that and by the time I'm ready to drive and then quite a few years later ready sell you mine you'll be real old.....

Previous discussion including the seller. He registered October 9th (but I thought that was 2009) and has not been back on since that day.

I hope my membership card isn't revoked but I kinda like the GP in the grille and the Rally Wheels, I know I got this factory correct thing rolling  but it is a super nice car and I might have made the same mods if it were mine. I will say however that the pricing is wishful.

Here's a picture of my 66 427 automatic car taken about 1978/1979. It's hard to see but look closely at the driver's side grille.... Yup, US emblem. I bought the car in 1975 and the previous owner had already done that modification before that!

I must say I have one of those I was going to put on my car as well..I too like the looks of the GP letters better...and thanks to Jonno for pointing out the fact that it doesn't have the factory correct lower body chrome or the fender skirts that won't fit with those tires he has on it!!! I too put the big tires on my daily driver and had to lose the skirts..It's definitely NOT factory correct as he says...quite a few changes as we can all notice!!

What am I missing on the lower body chrome? It's hard to see on white. Doesn't it have the narrow band all along the lower body line like it should?

Now I think I see what you guys mean. It's missing?

I thought you said it had the wrong chrome but it has no side lower trim.
