PAYPAL SCAMS?


i have my cougar for sale on the net and i have had 2 enquirerys where the buyer wants to send the money and get the car later.Both cases the buyer says he is working and wants the car for someone else and can I set up a paypall account then his broker will come and get the car later.Has anyone else had this happen to them? Does anyone have paypal and like it? I heard guys are gettin burned.......

Tim, I use Pay pal all the time ..The only safe way to transfer money I've found...Idiots are another problem all together!!

Paypal is safe if you are using it correctly. Do not use paypal for larger transactions like this.

Tell him to wire you the money.

I use it regularly without problem but have had a few disputes in over 700 transactions. It has evolved to protect buyers more than sellers IMO, which isnt a bad thing.

NEVER respond to paypal or similar emails, close it, log on to paypal and if there is a message, you'll get it there. People will phish for your info if you are unaware! I've had dozens of them with proper looking logos etc..., so I assume its common.

Was it gmail account? Anytime I sell anything I just delete the gmail or hotmail never had one be legit.

I use paypal all the time however I wouldn't for large transactions. Paypal will keep a big chunk. It's ok for deals under, say a grand..
