Budgie's new convertible '65

Not quite the rare find of the new postings. But is 1 of 48 RHD '65 parisienne convertibles imported into Australia.

Don't believe for a moment that your's in any less special.

I don't care what unique Pontiac you name, it's still just a piece of the huge Canadian Pontiac puzzle we are working on at Canadian Poncho. Whether it's the only one of it's kind or one of 48, or whatever, I think you will find pretty much everyone here agrees we love seeing them all.

Some of us like myself are a bit more closed minded on what years we favour and you happen to have hit the jackpot as far as I'm concerned! I loved that car the first time I saw pictures of it.

Congratulations, you are a lucky guy.

Yes i do like the '65 parisienne! 4 door dose not have GM Canada tag on left door pillar, may be kit car put together at Fishermans bend. I dont know? May have to sell to 4 door to finance new project.I hope not, just see what happens.

Budgie, is the engine supposed to be original? I am thinking if it's a 327, the heads are not the same as our Canadian 65's had by the look of it.

You know somebody should offer to swap a restored lefty for this one and bring it back here.  It would be a real mindbender on the highways here.  I've seen quite a number of right hand drive vehicles in Alberta so I don't think it's illegal.

Shipping costs would be a bugger though.  Still....

Sell your GP and buy it (wink, wink)

I'm not sure I'd want to be on a 2 lane in an RHD.

I was thinking my bros 409 car would be tempting to swap.  Then we'd build the only 409 powered right hand drive 65 convertible in Canada.  The freakout factor would be worth the scary driving.  Imagine rowing through the gears with your left hand!

We could likely figure that out sooner if you get the numbers off the engine. Do you know what to look for or should I (we) tell you?

Can you find a number cast in to the block on the passenger side rear?  A good possiblilty for that one will be a number ending in 870 but could be others.

Look at the back of the block where the transmission bolts up. The numbers are cast into the block on the oil filter side of the engine (your passenger side).

Found GM cast in block on left side behind head, but no No or something hidden under kickdown linkage bracket (on 4 door).Convertible needs good clean down! Some No under bracket but can't read without removing linkage and bracket.

Shoot, I never thought of that. You are correct, that is exactly where it is. That number will tell right away if it's a 283 or 327.
