The gap between the nose and hood on my Laurentian is making me mental. Last year I spent an hour trying to close the gap and didn't have much success. Some 69's have a similar gap while others are perfect like Tony's Strato Chief (our feature car).
Here's the situation:
The problem is the hood to fender alignment is good as well as the bumper to fender alignment.
From what I remember there's no more "in" movement for the front bumper (to which the nose is attached to)
Any suggestions? Tony?
I can only get away with saying "It's cold air induction" for so long!
how is gap at hood to valance below windshield? Maybe hood can come ahead with valance and hide gap there? Alighning this stuff will make you mental for sure
1. if the bumper carries the nose piece, (I) would try another used bumper for fit, and if it fit perfect, use it or rechrome it OR take your nice bumper, and put it on a big press and gently "press" it back a inch (in the midddle)
no seriously! no kidding

Mine is slightly wide but not enough to bother me. I'm more concerned about the very faint cracks in the surface of the paint. Does anyone know if these noses are reproduced? I'd love to have a spare.
why not lengthen the bumper bracket slots so the assembly can slide forther back, means taking it off and putting the die grinder and carbide to work . but seems like the most logical approach at this point.

I may end up having to do that. As for the nose, there were some fiberglass repops made but they weren't very good. That's why decent oem ones sell for over $300 on Ebay. Mine was broken when I got my car. I paid $350 for the one on my car.
AHA! So it was ONLY the '68 GTO that got the non-cracking indestructible nose-cones on them! Any nose-cones I've ever come across in my lifetime have been bent, cracked beyond belief or in need of some repair. Maybe when they were brand new they could take that type of abuse, but obviously the elements take a toll on them over time and they self destruct. IF someone could come up with reproduction nose-cones and 1/4 panels for '69 Parisiennes and 2+2's that WORK they could make a fortune.
