You can actually make it three cars using the post this morning:

There has to be one GTO  there among those three.

Oh ya the red hatchback is a uncommon option too making this GTO very low in production numbers.

You never see a 74 GTO at a show. Why is the Nova liked so much and the GTO must be the ugly sister

Well the 73 GTO was never really accepted by GTO guys and the 74 isn't even a GTO in their eyes. No GTO ever had 350 power and it was always an A body. You'd have to admit it was a bone headed marketing move to make the last year of the original era GTO on a completely different car. They could have had a 74 GTO on the LeMans, we've seen enough 74 GT's which were almost identical to a 73 GTO.

I had a 73 Ventura Sprint 350- 4 speed hatchback many moons ago. I think the 4 speeds used in these cars was the Saginaw. Thats what was in mine.
I'm not saying that the Saginaw is weak, but I think a well tuned stock Vega/Astre 4 cylinder could push one to it's limit!

I had 2 friends with cars with original Saginaws ...  One was a 327-275 that had gone 60,000 miles and hundreds of 1/4 miles runs, and one a 396-325 that was raced as well ....
They both bought Munices, as they were told over and over and over and over that the Saginaws would break...   You know wjat happened don't you?    yup!   they both broke the Muncies.......

I'VE GOT 4-5 BROKEN SAGINAWS IN MY SHED, THEY WERE IN MY NOVA WITH A LT-1 SPEC. 350. PUT ABOUT 50 MILES ON THE LAST ONE.no YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT AFTER THE FIRST COUPLE I WOULD HAVE UP-GRADED...YOUNG AND DUMB!hmm

I am a firm believer that anything can be broken... I have seen all 3, Saginaw, Muncie and the Warner T-10 in pieces.... I do like the shifting of the Saginaw over the choppy T-10 and for me, a Saginaw is fine. But it always sounds nicer when you say you have a Muncie or a Warner in the car!

I too have had chums who have removed the Saginaws in favor of the Muncie and ended up breaking them only to reinstall the Saginaw till they found another Muncie............. again and again!

Depends on how you use/abuse them...........

Ray, would you rather combine the three into a Sprint or a GTO? Which car would be more worthwhile?

I agree with Kim. Last year of production ( forget the Holdens) second lowest production run to 73's , neat hatchback option on the one car. I go with the GTO. I had the front cover of the sales brochure framed and on my wall back in the day. I found the photo and post it below.
