Beaumont trivia

I was doing some reading and learned something. Maybe it's only news for me but here goes.

Name 4 major components that are different on a Beaumont (and likely lots of other cars) that are different if a car was ordered from the factory with metallic brakes.

No, this is metallic drum brakes from the days when disc was barely invented.

By pads I assume you mean shoes, so yes, pads, shoes and drums now, we are up to 3.

Hmm, now I just realized this is something not all cars with metallic brakes would have, so I will have to reveal it.

It's the vacuum booster if you have power metallic brakes. Some were manual.

Why on earth would the booster need to be different on a metallic setup?

More travel on the rod because of bigger drums?

I'm not even thinking the drums are bigger. I think they are same width and diameter but will have to check into that.

I was wondering if the mounting flange on the master is different?

laughing.gif No, I just find the most off the wall things to ask!!!

And speaking of that, there is a real weird one right around the corner for full size cars....

One thing I do know is that I have ordered a rebuilt booster with the same application that won't bolt up to my firewall so maybe it's true?
