Trivia to sleep on!

One for the road. I'm off to bed. Test sheets will only be corrected in the morning.

There could be a few correct answers to this one so it will be fun to see what comes out of this.

I have one specific thing in mind though.

According to the parts book, name something that was available as an option on 66 Pontiacs but no other year.  Remember, this is Canadian Pontiac I mean, 66 only, and factory installed, not an accessory.

It could have been on other GM's and other years, but it appears to be only 66 for Canadian Pontiacs.

Hmm, never seen an option for that but it's not the answer I'm looking for.

Have you seen such a thing Ray? A factory option I mean?

I am thinking this will be quite a stumper. However, I have talked about this at some point.

Just search through the limited number of posts I've made on Canadian Poncho over the past 3 years and I'm sure the answer will be easy to spot........

I'm going to take a wild guess and say transistor ignition. "Surely" I'm wrong though!

You RAT!!! You have an unfair advantage, having heard me talk about it!!!

Yup, we have a winner here.   winner.gif

I've heard guys say they came in other years but can't find any proof whatsoever.

Seriously, that was just a long shot guess. I thought for sure it was offered other years. Is it offered in other GM lines , Buick, Olds, Chev? It must have been a corvette option....

So were they a great improvement Carl?  I believe you're probably the only guy who had one.

It never gave me a stitch of trouble in the time I owned the car, July 81 to Jan 89. Interesting thing is, nobody knows it's there because the cap and rotor are the same as point type.

It has a nice little electronic box on the driver's inner fender, which I have no picture of, sadly.

My car also had the electronic voltage regulator. I have no idea if that was included as part of the package. I suspect so because nothing on the option list shows the regulator, just the ignition system, K66.

Yes, I think pretty much any Canadian with Chevy power in 66. I see it in the Beaumont book too.

Seems to me someone mentioned they had or had seen a 66 Cheetah with it.
