Can anyone tell me if the Canadian cars originally (from the factory) came with a unique/ different rad cap than the US cars?? I have a couple rad caps that look very similar to the US Original ones ( both the "BIG EAR" type), but they are different in that they say MADE IN CANADA stamped into them and also have a 15 stamped into it as well. The US ones had a RC15 and AC logo on them. I will post pics soon of the Canadian and US caps.
I'm trying to figure out if the MADE IN CANADA rad caps are assembly line installed or a service replacement piece??

Wow, that could be a tough one to prove, that a cap is original on a certain car. I think I have at least one like you describe but short of a "new" photo, how will a guy be able to tell?

Good question! I never really noticed, but i think i have some earlier caps that would be original for 1962, 3, 4 cars. I will look if any of them say canada on them

I'm sure that my 67 convert has the made in Canada rad cap. And that car has not been touched much since the early to mid 70's. Have you ever seen this cap before dave??

I have the original rad caps from my 454 Parisienne, and my low mileage 2+2 hardtop. The caps are in a drawer in the garage and I'll check them tomorrow.

Curiosity got the best of me and I went out to the garage for a look. Both caps are the same as the one on the left in Carl's photo, definately do not say "Made in Canada". I also have a handful of other caps that have been removed from cars in the scrap yards, they are all the same as the left cap.
Were the caps all removed from 1970 cars??? Maybe earlier cars were different? The cap that says made in canada was removed from a 66 or 67 b body. Just need to see if there are any other cars out there with this cap?

yes, both my caps were removed from 1970 cars. Both were early build dates (September 1969).
