For sale ? I don't even have any extra copies for myself. One thing I have done since day one is send a copy to our good friend at Vintage Vehicle Services just to keep our Canadian Ponchos at the top of his list
Good idea! I will scan my copy, and then I can share it, to those too poor? to subscribe......

I'm assuming that you still have to belong to POCI to join the Canadian Specialty chapter?? If not I may consider joining!!!! Anything planned for the members for a show or get together like we had w/Canadian Poncho group in Hamilton last summer?? I really enjoyed that, other than all the rain!!! Might I suggest, maybe going to the streetcar Museium just west of Toronto sometime next summer, think that could be interesting & a good place for the Cdn. Poncho folks to meet up there????

I have made an initial inquiry with the Motor City Car club who handle Autofest and they currently have no feature club fro 2011. I thought that it might be something to consider as a Joint CPSC and CP venture. Right now we have about 60 members in CPSC and only 25% are on board here.
You might be surprised but there are a lot of Pontiac guys out there who don't visit us on line here and I mean some serious Pontiac guys. Wilf in Washago ON comes to mind, he had Pontiac blood running through his veins and he has to be there most knowledgeable Pontiac guy both Us and Canadian I have ever met. He's got Hillar covered if you can imagine that plus a pile of Pontiacs.
excellant job Ray, It's cold here and I have looked through it 3 times. Autofest is a great show, been there many times with my studebaker. I will likely be there with my new ride.
It would be a great idea to make CPSC and CP the feature club for Autofest.
Well then we should pursue this. I've made hotel reservations for Woodward this year too, never been. I think it is the week before Autofest.
Last year at Autofest there was a huge showing of Beaumonts. The organizers need a 20 car committment for each day. I think we had that in Beaumonts this year. You get front and centre parking opposite the stage area too I believe.
I will engage the CPSC executive group then we can discuss seriously.
Known Wilf for yrs & Yrs. He bought the 8lugs off the 64 Catalina a few yrs ago & the "ROTO" hydramatic transmission [SLIM JIM] when I converted to the Turbo 350. He has "quite the collection of Cars" mostly US from what I can remember, 1 drop dead 64 Bonni rag top tri power 4 spd.!!!! I just dropped my POCI membership, wasn't getting anything out of the club up here, Smoke Signals was always a mth. late, conventions are too expensive to go to & as far as I'm concerned the web site forum was "DEAD" only 4 or5 of us on there & sometimes no new posts for a week. I got "REAMED" for stating this, & asking why more members weren't using it?? After that I just didn't renew, & that's fine by me. Have talked to a few POCI members this summer & they are "pi$$ed as well, especially the guys up north that don't have computor acess & have to wait for magazine. POCI seems to want everyone to go the electronic membership, so I think in a yr. or2 there will be no magazine anyway. Sorry to VENT here but I'm done now!!!!!

Great issue Ray! POCI sends us a reminder when membership is due, does the CPSC do the same? I have spent more money in the past on magazines and received a lot less enjoyment than what I'm getting from these issues. The Canadian Poncho site costs nothing, so the average cost per membership is very little.
Hey guys, take up Carl on his great offer, Santa Hicks. Only in Clinton eh.

Hey Carl, appr. the offer but I told POCI I was done there & not going to go back on my word. I may give it a yr. & see what happens thru the other POCI guys, if nothing changes, I'll stay out. Spoke to some US POCI members when in West Virginia both times this summer & they all all agreed there wasn't much there for out of country members other than coming to convention, if you don't have a "LOCAL" chapter & most of them didn't realize you need a "Passport" to cross the border [don't get out much?] another expense unless you cross regularly!! Maybe I'l make a donation to Todd to help out. Was hoping for a destination to go to other than a show, like we did last yr. for Hamilton!!! Oh well I'm ususally away at the weekend of Auto Fest, never been to it yet.

Thanks Carl, Todd, Greg and Brian for your kind remarks. I am really sorry about taking so long to get that issue out. Unfortunately I had some bad things happen in my life that needed more attention than Astro News Flash over the summer and fall. Once things got back on track I figured I owed the boys a double issue so there you have it. Working on the next issue which should go out January month end.
To Pete I have to say that all the people I have met or had contact with at POCI are super good people. I think they have made a number of changes recently so I respectfully say that to hold a grudge is probably a bit unfair. In speaking with Wilf Kazzanits last week he has all but convinced me to go down to the convention this summer. Like anything in life clubs are a two way street, you get out of it what you give. Don't want to be up on a soap box because it is a personal decision to make but in any case $50 can't be held out as a reason not to join.

I don't know if any one else is on facebook but poci posted the cover of Astro on their page yesterday with a link to the cpsc sight telling members to check us out. So if you think they do not recognize us you are wrong.

Thanks Vern, Paul Bergstrom mentioned he was going to do that. We also agreed to make this version available on-line so that is in my court to get that done before Christmas.
Just got my edition today and it is a quality publication, really enjoyed it. I am very happy to see the POCI convention will be in Bowling Green, KY July 5-10. I will definitely try to make it with my 67 Beaumont SD and 2 or 3 Canso's to represent the CPSP. The National Nova Convention will be held there in June.

Thanks for your nice comments and for letting me know you received it Jerry. I always like to know how long it takes to get from Toronto to places like Kentucky. Looks like about a week, not bad at this time of year,
