Beaumont sport steering wheel

Guys, what steering wheels were available for the 65-67 Beau's?
In would like a bit smaller wheel for my 65 and have been looking at a 3 spoke wheel.
It has a buick center cap now.

My knowledge is limited to the '66 and '67. As far as I know, the only steering wheels available were the standard 2 spoke for the '66 and the standard 3 spoke for the '67. Both were the same wheels as the standard Chevelle steering wheels of the same year, only the horn buttons were different. (The '66 and '67 horn buttons were also unique to their years.)
Having said that, the Chevelle SS's had the optional wooden wheel I believe, but the Beau horn button would not fit.
As a result, your options may be limited...

Aren't all 67 wheels different than 66? The steering column is fatter on 67 once the 4 way flashers were incorporated into the signal switch starting then. I thought the diameter of the 66 column is smaller.

I was wrong once before.....

64 and 65 are smaller column diameter for sure.

Brings up a question,  The wood grain wheels were not offered on 64-67 beaumont???????

The parts book says no wood wheel and I would believe it. There was never a center cap for any Canadian Pontiac to fit a wood wheel was there?

To take it one further, no wood wheel in any Beaumont/Acadian/Full size is there?

I'm not sure about that.  I know that the '66 is two spoke and the '67 is three spoke.  Whether or not they are interchangable between the two years, I'd be guessing.  (And if I was guessing, I'd say they were because I have seen a few '66's with '67 steering wheels.)

Possibly they are using the correct year hub and just changing over the wheel onto it?

Again, I'm guessing too...

the cheetah has a wood wheel with the vette cross flags cap, all chevelle and vette stuff, but the beamonts never got wood wheels factory, two spoke 66 and earlier, three spoke 67 to 68 two spoke for 69.

I have a factory photo of a 1968 Beaumont SD396 that apparently has the N34 Sport Styled Steering Wheel, the plastic rimmed simulated walnut style. Unfortunately you really have to look closely to see it in the picture. The car also shows U46 Light Monitoring System, remote-controlled mirror, headrests and wire wheel covers. I am trying to join the 2 page halfs together so it is a little crude right now. Look closely at the second picture where I zoomed in.

Unfortunately I still need to get my 1964-69 Beaumont Parts Cataloque back before I can confirm part numbers. I have seen a restored 1965 Beaumont in a 1991 Super Chevy magazine that is Evening Orchid with apparently a factory 2-spoke Sport Steering Wheel. The horn button is a unique piece but unfortunately not very visible in the picture.

The parts book says the first year for sport wheel is 68 in Beaumont.

I'd like to see the 65 setup. That is one of none according to the parts book, and the same old never say never disclaimer applies!

Sometime when my lazy rear gets out of this chair I'll see if I happen to have a pic in the assembly manual fiche. I don't think the parts book has a drawing of it.

This is in the 68 brochure, is a different one than the standard one. Looks much like the one on my sons 67 camaro.  Could this be the sport wheel ?

I think that wheel looks a lot like the '67 Beau wheel.  It also looks colored coded to match the interior as opposed to wood?...  (But then again, I have no idea what to look for LOL.)

The wheel shown above in the 68 brochure that looks like the 67 wheel is the standard Beaumont Deluxe series wheel. It is the base Beaumont wheel with a little added chrome. The 1968 Chevelle 300 used the non-chrome version and the 300 Deluxe used the chromed version (the one shown in the brochure above). I have not seen the Sport Wheel pictured in any Beaumont brochure.

Chevrolet in Canada certainly did offer the Sport Wheel on Chevelles. One Chevelle rolled down the line 31 after mine in Oshawa on December 16, 1966 with the optional N34 wheel, disk brakes, power windows, a 327, 11" clutch, 4-speed and a bunch of other stuff.

That 1965 Beaumont Sport Deluxe from the 1991 Super Chevy magazine was a car that was restored a long while ago using NOS parts & trim purchased in 1975 from a Pontiac dealer. I can't say with 100% certainty that the car rolled off the line with the 2-spoke N34 wheel (I need to find that article to re-read). The car had wire wheel covers on it and was a 300-horse 327 4-speed.
