Hood Springs

My '65 beaumont hood springs have become rather weak.  When the hood is opened, it will drop down about three to four inches.  Does anyone know a source for new springs?  Thanks in advance, Bob

They were still available from GM not that long ago, so may still be. I can check for you to see.

The currently available GM replacements are crap... different wire diameter, different length, different rate... all adds up to a curved hood when closed and won't stay all the way up when open. I found and installed some originals and problems cured.

Were 64 and 65 hinges the same?  Somewhere iIread something about they being different.  Carl, if you could find out if they're still being sold by GM, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks, Bob
