I HAVE A 62 PONTIAC 261 3 ON THE TREE. TRANS GRINDS A LITTLE GOING INTO 2ND GEAR. WAS TOLD BY A TRANS SHOP THE SYNCRO ASSY. IS SOLD AS WHOLE REBUILT UNIT NOW.IF YOU CAN FIND ONE. ANYONE KNOW OF ANYTHING, PARTS OR GOOD TRANS. SOUTHERN ONT.?? THANKS
i think you can swich over to a later fully sincro saginaw they are alot stronger smoother and more plentiful those old ones are getting tough to find bits for
Hi. Is it the small short 3 spd. Have 59. I beleive only syncroed in 2nd 3rd. I have one in my 62 Chevy II. my 1st car, It was not sync. into 1st. The one I have is from 59 283 full size Pont. I do beleive they are shorter than Saginaw later model? Can send pic. some time if you like. Thanks Bob 72 Lux
