cdnpont, are you the one who wrote the great tech article on b body disc brakes using an available rotor? Was it a Vette rotor?

I need 1 OEM rotor for a 69- 70 set I have , that is why I ask. I could get by with it , but it is near the end of it's life.

I knew the vette rotor was possible from the great tech article here.... just thought maybe someone stumbled into a stockpile of OEM rotors...

keep us posted...

OEM B body 69-70 rotors are extremely hard to find. You see used ones on eBay from time to time, but you have to make sure they have enough meat on them. They usually can only be cut be cut once or twice.

New is  1.26" , and throw away is 1.21"

NOS are out there ( I know a few people who have them) , but they want $495 each, which I feel is a little rich. A pair of NOS did sell on eBay a few months back for approx $500 (for the pair) , and I regret not buying them at the time , just for spares.

Over the years I've been fortunate to find enough good ones ( and some NOS) for my 2 projects , but you just have to be patient. I have even gone as far as buying the whole car just to get the disc brakes.

so there is a 11 inch and 12 inch in 4 piston Chevies?

I thought Impala Bobs would know the truth.....  hmmm

I think that the Bob's rotor pictured is simply a replacement for the disc brake kit they offer.
