He's got a $13,500 cash offer but he's not for sure accepting it.
Seems like a lot of money for what we see BUT in two years time it will show up as a complete numbers matching car, one of two 4 speed 427 high performance ultra rare Canadian convertibles at BJ's and sell for $225,000.
Seems like there was almost equal number of buyers for the SS427 Impala convertible as there were for the Parisienne 2+2 Convertible.
A side note: I have been hounding George for the exact number of Impala convertibles built with the Z24 option and the note at the bottom was the best he could provide.
Has any one looked at that Parisienne ragtop yet? Please let me know what you found out
Doubt it's a 2+2 or 427 car but on Monday Dec. 27/10 at Hiway speed I saw a '68 Poncho Ragtop sitting in snow outside one of the old service centers beside Hwy#35 South of Lindsay.. I didn't stop and should have as I got stung doing 120 in an 80 zone by the OPP a couple miles further South..

There were 14 Impala convertibles built in Canada in 1968 with the L36. 12 of those were SS427s and the other 2 were non-SS.
I know of 1 original SS427 convertible. I photographed it in 1991 on my way to work and later actually had a closer look at it. The car was built in Ste. Thérèse. It was bought new by a doctor in Gravenhurst, Ontario. It was later purchased by the doctor's mechanic and later resold to the mechanic's friend, another mechanic in Scarborough.
Attached are 2 pictures from that 1991 sighting. I did doctor them to fix a little tear in the top, plus I elminated the slightly pushed-in grille which I also added black-out. I also changed the wheels & tires in the picture from 15x7s to the correct 15x6 Rally Wheels with redline tires (sorry!)

Maybe i should have my brother up in edmonton go have a looksee,a very rare car if it is indeed what it says, too bad the drivetrain is gone.I also know of a 427 impala ss.Not sure on the year it has the 3 round tailights. It is in a wrecking yard where we do some of our fire training. It is a 427,4spd convertible and still has the 427 badges and the drivetrain is intact. He also has a two door parts car for it.I have been after him for 8-9 years to sell it but he still says he's going to fix it some day.It will rot into the ground long before that happens unfortunetly.

Does anyone know if the turquoise car you saw in 1991 still exists?
Actually, now that I think about it, that car sat about a block away from where I have storage in Summerland, but disappeared about 6 or 8 months ago. It was in a fenced compound, so I didn't get a close look at it.

For sure! I see it occasionally in the summer, maybe once or twice a year. It appears that he keeps it dry and out of the elements. It is a little tired but really solid. It would be an awsome car in restored condition.

What about regular Parisiennes and Grand Parisiennes with this engine?
MY GM DOCUMENTS INDICATE 30 FOR THE GRANDE PARISIENNE WITH L-36. NO IDEA HOW MANY (IF ANY?) WITH 4SPD. I WOULDN'T THINK TOO MANY G.P. OWNERS WOULD HAVE ORDERED A 4SPD, BUT I'M SURE THERE WOULD BE AT LEAST A COUPLE.
GEORGE SAYS SAME MODEL# ONLY, SO I WOULD TAKE THAT AS 2DR SPORT COUPE ONLY. A L-36 4SPD. GP WAGON WOULD BE COOL TO FIND!
Good luck with that. Canadians were not as flush with cash as their US Counterparts, at least when it came to throwing it at vehicles in the '60s. Still, there may be some out there.
Mike, remind me, I have been wondering for months, what are:
"The Smalls"
I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Steve Martin.
in the west end (Byron area) of London there was a 68 4 door hardtop, not sure now if a Parisienne or a Grand Parisienne but a 427 car. Next door was a 68 Bonneville 4 door hardtop 428 car. Both cars were gold with black vinyl tops. I wonder if both cars may have been sold by LMP ? The rumour was the the cars were owned by brothers?
