IRT: Deadliest Roads

Did anyone catch this show on History tonight? Insane pretty much sums it up. The ice roads are a cakewalk compared to mountain roads in India! No wonder you hear about 40 people dying in bus wrecks there all the time. disbelief

Never heard of this show... will try to catch the episode! There are some crazy roads there...

i've been on some in the himilayas between Nepal and India and Bhutan too... bhutan is a dream compared to nepal! I remember the old datsun b210 (or whatever it was) the starter was broken, so whenever we hit the brakes because a tata truck came around, we'd have the turn the car around, push start it and then turn around again to keep going up the mountains!! They sell gas in Wild Turkey whiskey bottles on the side of the road...fun!!!

I've been twice now, cant wait to go back!! I'll be in Havana tomorrow afternoon, anybody need some parts?? :)

Did you see all the cars and trucks on the side of the roads. Looked like a  lot of head on's . Alex quit after the first day and after hitting a car door and getting side swiped by another car. Great show.

Those people are insane the way they drive. At the start of the show they said a person dies every 4.5 minutes in a car accident.

I was watching a tv show about Ford's comeback and they showed their new factory in India that produces an Indian designed car. They touted how it was designed for the Indian driver with easy to replace fenders and door skins etc. After seeing that show now I know why this is important!

Those truck cabs are made of wood. No protection at all. Scary.

When I hauled across Canada......I thought people were nuts. India takes the cake on that one.
Watching those Cajons that came from Canada catching gators is funny
