THE LORD'S PRAYER

BY A 15 yr. Old SCHOOL KID IN  ARIZONA

New Pledge of Allegiance (TOTALLY AWESOME)!

Since the Pledge of Allegiance

And

The Lord's Prayer

Are not allowed in most

Public schools anymore

Because the word 'God' is mentioned.....

A kid in  Arizonawrote the attached

NEW School prayer:

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..

The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all..

In silence alone we must meditate,

God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,

And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,

And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,

We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,

When chaos reigns the school's a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:

Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Amen

Jesus said,  'If you are ashamed of me,  I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'

IT'S PRETTY SAD THAT WE ARE EXPECTED TO PUBLICLY PUT UP WITH AND ACCEPT PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT BELIEFS AND CULTURES AND RELIGION IN THIS COUNTRY, BUT CAN'T EXPRESS OUR OWN FOR WHICH THIS COUNTRY WAS BUILT ON. SAD TIMES INDEED.no

I see it as progress. I have to agree in principle with removing it from public schools.  I prefer not to have my government decide which religion and which god to preach about to my offspring. There are wonderful private institutions for just that purpose. The fact that we accept allcomers from any religion makes me proud to be Canadian, and even more proud that we dont force our beliefs on them. IMO the world will be a much better place once we are all beige and believe in Darwins theory of evolution. Dont hate me because my opinion differs from yours, chances are, I only believe in one less god than you. I understand this a very touchy subject for some, but I didnt start the thread, and my intention is not to offend anyone, just represent the hethans, athiets, agnostics or whatever category I fall into.

I certainly don't hate you for it but we certainly have different opinions!!!

Last night I took a car load of teenage girls to a basketball game. All 4 girls are Christian girls. I told them it is very likely in their lifetime they will have to physically suffer for their faith. It's a scary thought, going from being respected for your belief to being tortured for it.

No hate here either. We are all sinners and God's gift of grace is there for ANYONE who accepts it. Life is hard sometimes, but that's where the faith comes in...

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

To each their own, personally I'm not a religous man but this country was founded on the beliefs of Christianity. That being said, I still believe that organized religon is the root of all evil.

Okay.  Seeing that everyone is so balanced and accepting can I take this to mean that you're all gonna march in this year's Pride Parade?

God first should be taught at home and in the church.History has shown that when Governments get into religion bad things happen .The early Christians killed Jews in the name of God.Hitler killed Jews in the name of God.The Nut job in Iran WILL kill the jews if he gets the chance in the name of his God.
It is not the ( Public schools ) job to teach your kid about GOD or ( MOTHER EARTH ) it is yours. They need to start going back to teaching the kids now days how to read and wright!!!If you want your kids to learn anything put them in the private system ( the public system is badly broken )

Well see it's kinda like this, the Jew's brought this on themselves they were
God's choosen people but their downfall was when they denied Christ. After that
God blew his whistle and ordered everyone to the sidelines.See now that's where
we come in, because of what went down the good Lord said OK all you gentiles
(that's us) I'm gunna let you guy's run with the ball for a while. As it turns out
it's not that easy, like maybe your attention is on the babe up in the third row
and BAM you get knocked to your knee's, a couple shots like that and you really
start to pay attention to the game. God will not give you more than you can
handle. There is no shame in raising your family to follow Christ. I have never
heard of a case where a kid walked into a Sunday school class and mowed
everybody over with a gun....well, am I ....right,write or wright ? LOL

You know this is how wars are started? I have a opinion on a lot of things but I won't touch your faith. As long as your not negitively affecting anybody go on with your business in what ever faith you have. All my relatives are very religious so I walk the line between fate and faith.

God is not my co-pilot. We are not on equal status.

I believe that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.

God is my PILOT. I'm seated in the tail section. I also have to add: Say you found out something that could change somebody's life FOREVER. Wouldn't you want to share that with EVERYBODY. Thank God that sharing is a core value of the car hobbyist. Hmmmmconfuse

Now about the new Camaro convertible...anybody seen any info on the price of one of those?

Hmmm.  This girl could change her mind.  And......

As far as religion goes, I'm a jewish catholic lutheran married to a greek orthodox and I sometimes work in Shiite mosques so my bases are covered.

People can practice whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt anybody or cost me money.
