Accident on Friday

So i just got the car back from my mechanic on friday around 11:30am i had him go over the whole car replaced what needed replacing which was minor things like plugs, themostat, air breather, carb set-up, pion seal, compression, vacuum tests & tires rebalanced. So since the roads were nice and clear +6, i went cleaned her up and went to pick up the better half  as were driving i come to a stop light and stop I looked in my rear view for a sec said babe hold on and SMACK a '07 silverdao just rear-ended me then another smash and another there were 2 other vehicles that hit the silverado that hit me> Well everyone was ok no injuries thank god! the silverado's front end was a mess just criggled and fluid eveywhere the kia suv that hit him was a write off aswell and the camry that hit the kia had a broken bumper. The GP has a lil dent on the pass wing by tail light and now heres were i hope someone can explain this to me...Why does it kinda clunk in the rear as i take off normally or if i stop quick and idea's.????  Thanks for reading..

could be lot of this you should check the body mounts and take your car to a frame shape see if your frame is bent a bit if so a couple hundred bucks can fix that  thats all i can think of

If it's front wheel drive it's probably a rear strut. It's good that your okey. I always worry about my wife driving over the dredded Malihat here. It's a zoo and very dangerious at times. Sorry I thought you ment a newer GP. If it is the car in your avatar don't listen to me. Probably a U-joint.

Frame maybe bent. Diff is now off center, u-joint banging as power hits it. My guess.

Some questions you should ask yourself....

Do you "feel" the clunk? Yes. Where? In the pedal? Seat? Floor?
Is it more audible window up? window down?
Any specific speed or condition make it wosre?

Any visible damage underneath or inside the Trunk? Suspension? Frame? Fuel?
How are the bushings in the springs? worn? shifted?

Has the brakes been dismantled for inspection?

Has anyone rode in the trunk to help pinpoint the clunk?

Inspect everything very carefully after an accident for any sign of damage. You might be surprised how a little thing can resonate to the passenger compartment.

Good Luck
