Hi All, Before everyone blasts me for using this site for Non Pontiac stuff I just wanted to apologize fror the post for a Chevy. A Google search sent me here while looking for 1969 Big block Biscayne information. I am looking for someone who may have build sheet information for my car. GM in the US only carries information for cars from 1977 on(Dummies!) and I was hoping that someone here might have either bought or copied this information from GM before they dumped it or know of someone who might help. It would be a shame if the information were lost were lost. Any help would be really appreciated. I may not be a Pontiac guy but I really did enjoy your site anyway. Thanks Jake at Jakesterone@msn.com Thanks again and please pardon the intrusion.

Welcome ... we like most cars and planes and trains and snowmobiles and Atvs and go karts ......
Welcome Jakester!. As others have asked, where was the car built?. Regardless of where sold, Vin specific info on what RPO's were shipped w/ Canadian built cars can be had from GM Canada Vintage Services also the same for US built but Canadian delivered cars.. A US built and US sold car is tougher to document but sometimes not impossible w/ a little sleuthing and homework!. Lay what info you have on us here and maybe some here can help also hopefully site member 68Post Barry will chime in as I believe his '69 L72 Biscayne is a US built/US sold car that went though a similar process to verify its original 427/425 pedigree!.

Thanks for the quick reply! The Biscayne is a 1969 with what I believe to be the orig engined L72 option. Dk green 4 speed posi,f41 susp. No air and black bench vinyl seat. I have had the car since 1972 and it has been in the barn since about 1978. It is in another state and I am planing a trip to see some family and I am planning to stop and take a look and see what I can find out. I cannot believe I lost interest for so long but I guess it is what it is. It's now time!! I last took a peek about 3-4 years ago but since I retired a year ago I now feel I have the time and funds to devote to a restoration. (I also found some old pix that kinda woke me up and reminded me how much fun this car was) I am hoping it isn't too far gone (it has been covered but in an unheated barn with what I am sure will be a million critters) It only has what I remember to be about 43-45K miles. (I'm the second owner--bought it from a friend of a guy I knew back then--a local car),tinted windows,an 8 track with reverb(cool) and a chevy bow tie on the tape player door. I also has the ugliest little rectangular dash mounted transistorized tach that never worked very well. I don't know what I will find but before I go and spend 30 to 40k on a restoration I want to make sure exactly what it is(or is not). I remember looking under the rear seat for a build sheet years ago but I never did find anything and now I guess it may be too late. Almost forgot..the vin(154119F065717) says it was built in Flint, Mich. so GM archives couldn't help me. I plan on climbing around to get the codes from the eng/heads/trans etc. Yea, so any help or direction anyone wishes to offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again Jake
