Anyone had their A/C refilled in U.S. with R-12 refrigerant?

My 72 GTO still has the R-12 type A/C system and found out that you cannot get anyone in Ontario to refill it with R-12. It is against the law. I believe that I can still get it refilled in th U.S. but not sure of the cost or hassle at the border. Anyone had this done in the U.S.?
