Not for the easily disgusted...

Thought I'd share something I tried this past summer.  While enjoying a summer morning sanding down an old table for refinishing I couldn't help but notice the dried out, cracked and multi layers of dead skin I had on the heels of my feet.  (Sorry for the visual.  However, if I had premeditated my next actions, I probably would have taken a "before" picture which would be worse.)

After finishing sanding the table top with the orbital sander, I then sat down to take a well deserved rest, orbital sander in hand.  You can guess what came next.   Yup.

I just performed the act again this morning...orbital sander to the bottom of my heels.  220 grit seems to work for me, but that's because I'm in maintenance mode.  A more agressive grit was required in the summer.  (Worth noting that this method isnt the best for the rest of your foot as I'm not sure what the kids would think hearing dad laughing by himself in the bathroom with a power tool buzzing.)

Anyway, thought I'd share.  The same satisfaction one gets from any do-it-yourself job (and no doubt cheaper and less girlie than getting a pedicure.)  This unemployed thing does have it's benefits!

Haaa!  I learned a bit of a lesson the first time when I went with the coarse grit and pressed a little to hard.  (Similar to what the "cheese grater would likely produce LOL)
Maybe I'll dress up my sander with a catchy name and take the show on the road to Dragons Den!
