I am about to drill two holes on the passenger door on a 66 Malibu ss for the outside mirror and thought I better make sure as to where Im drilling.I took the measurments from the drivers mirror and duplicated them for the passengers side but now im thinking is it the same?I know its a chevelle but is beaumont the same?Ill keep holding this drill till I find out for sure.

Are your measurements 15" and 17 3/4" from the front edge of the door?

those measurements are pretty close to what ive got on the drivers door so I just switched them to the other side, just not sure if it sits excactly the same or not,it would make sense that they matched up but without an interior in the car I cant sit it and check the view from the passenger side to see if it clears the vent window frame or not, thanks for the help.

Those measurements are from my passenger side, so if they match your drivers side then we have a winner!

Were right side mirrors a factor option or a dealer installed extra? If dealer installed they could go anywhere.

I believe accessory (dealer) only in the 60's, but I was wrong once before.

well the deed is done, holes are drilled, thanks for all the replies. From what ive learned searching the net all passenger mirrors for 66 including chevelles were dealer installed so the measurments can change from one to another depending on who was installing it,at least thats my opinion, but Ive been known to be wrong just ask my wife.
