Well we're back from Lethbridge and the gargantuan Swap Meet at the fairgrounds. I'm glad to report I was under control this year and spent a minimal amount of cash. Sorry to all the venders that must work their tales off getting setup and putting up with the crowds all day. But the truth is, I just didn't see anything I needed for any of my fleet this year. I spent more time shopping for others, to which I never found anything for them eather. There was a wak of tables, and a lot of antique people there this year. Kinda kreeped me out to see a lot of "Nazi stuff". Medals, knives, even a uniform there for sale. Where did that all come from? Somebody cut the power to the electric fence?
Another disappointment was two very nice early 60's Pontiacs for sale (I think) in the seperate car sales room with no info, phone numbers, or reps for information sake. I hope someone bought a Pontiac from that room, but right now, those cars were Lethbridge's best kept secret.
The drive home was exciting as the worst wind storm in decades blew through southeastern Alberta. I'm pleased to say The CTS handled all well.

I bought a few things at the swap meet, but nothing noteworthy. I also lokoed at the 64 Parisienne wagon that was in the car room. I made a pit stop at Lethbridge's Burger Baron for lunch afterwards then drove home. My V6 Accord didn't have any problem with the chinook winds.
I also looked at the 64 Parisienne wagon that was in the car room.
No pics?

Sorry, but no pictures. But there should have been. This is a big venue. One must pace one's self. And if there is something you want, better buy it ASAP, as if you think you'll come back to it, chances are its eather gone......or you can't find it again. Re: Wind. Roofs were blown off at various buildings in the country, semis blown over, and a story of a trucker getting out of his truck to fix a tarp and having the wind blow him across the highway! He was OK, but never experienced that before. Good Times!

It's 90% automotive with some other colectables and antiques thrown in. Massive sale...I didnt buy much this year either. All I saw for my Beaumont were 2 right side tail light bezels on Werners table. Bought my kid a some cool hotwheels cars though. That big Pontiac wagon was cool. Unfortunatly I have no room/cash for another project right now. Sorry no pics here either. I love wagons.
Red Deer swap meet march 26...I've never been to it but heard it's real big to.
I was there also. I thought there more things there that my wife would be interested than car pars. The 64 Pontiac wagon was cool. 300hp 327 and 4 speed.

I gotta feel sorry for those vendors. That's a lot of work. But then again, some had crap. One dude brought in a front frame assy from a Ford P/U complete with engine. Caused a commotion like you wouldn't believe with his forklift. Was it a 351 Cleveland? No. Was it a 302? No. Was it a 429? No. It was a worn out 360. OK? That would be good if someone wanted an EGR air pump, with motor. I'm still getting over the Nazi stuff those antique dealers had. I would assume due to the German Prisoner Camp in east Lethbridge during WW2, these prisoners moved back after the war. And they brought thier stuff with them. Now, they are dying off, and thier families are trying to get something for the knives, medals and uniforms. It's all stuff that should have been destroyed as far as I'm concerned. I spoke to the "Russell Militaria" guy pretaining to the Nazi uniform he was pedalling. WWWAAAYYY too much enthusiasm from the dude! The owner of that Pontiac Wagon should have been there. That was a tease!
