Great stuff.

While on vacation as a youngster in the late 60's, my dad to us to the drag races, it was possibly Cranbrook BC.  I can still remember the sights and sounds of the bare bones racing of that era.

Thanks! Unfortunately I lost my 8mm Great Lakes Dragway movie I took in 1966 - featuring Willys gassers pulling the front wheels in all 4 gears, Garlits versus Chrisman, jet dragsters ...

Great video. We try to get to the nostalgia drag races everyyear at Lancaster N.Y. only a 1/8 mile track but worth the drive. The new cars are heart pounding at national races like Gainsville but it's fun to watch old 4 speed cars with no electronics going at it.

Man I grew up in the wrong generation I would have loved to be part of that entire culture, thats when men where men and the lady's did what they where told!LOL dont tell my wife I said that. But I could just imagine what it must have been like, I just recently hired a new technican and Dave is quite older then me I think in his early 60's I could just sit and listen to his stories all day he grew up in T.O and was a street racing punk back in the day. Really great guy and im very happy to have him as part of my staff.

That was cool... i like the nostalgia cars! My dad had his 63 fury with 383 golden commando and 'cheater slicks' ...."retreads" with no treads!hahaha! my uncle had a 59 dodge with a 426 wedge and cross ram intake... fun times! many years before my time....but the same things exist, just different types of cars and more power!

I'd like to build a retro drag car, door slammer, straight axle...so cool!! 70s style with metal flake!!
