Why dont he store this?
Permalink Closed

When I was 12, we lived in Windsor Ontario for 1 year. So I drove the wife to show her our old house, right around the corner this guy owns a few classic cars. He has lived there since I was a kid....and his car is still there parked on the road. Windsor for the most part dont have driveways....and you must park on the road. Each week you switch sides of the street(memory serves me right). Can you beleive this guy leaves this stuff on the road all year round??? here is a few pics.....sad really.....Storage cant be that expensive????

We were over at Westlock last week end visiting the mother in law....dohdohdoh...anyway my youngest son and I decided to check out the town. In a compound buried in snow was a 63-66 Vette and this was no project car. There were alot of mixed emotions within the next few moments...furious....cry...confuse...but I think the idea of taking a bat to somebody won out. Man, the crimes some people commit and get away with....

Oh well... his cars his money...

Who knows what his reasons might be?

There are neat old cars out there still that are being driven year round in the salt and snow... properly treated with Rust Check or Krown plus other cleaning and maintenance and the cars don't fall apart...

Where I live (one of the rustiest areas of Canada) I've seen an early '70s Toyota Land Cruiser being driven year round for the past 12 years or so and it still looks mint.  Anybody who remembers how poorly those old Toyotas stood up to rust will realize how significant this is.

I'm an advocate of storing old cars in the winter, but over the years I've relaxed my "ownership" of the old car hobby.   I used to freak when I saw somebody not taking care of an old car till it occurred to me that it's really none of my business.

Just my 2˘...

I saw a guy near Sudbury a few winters ago in a 1969 El Camino towing a loaded snowmobile trailer, road was slushy, actually poor driving conditions. You're right MC, none of my business.

Agree with that too - in the mid 80s I drove a 58 Ford wagon for one winter just because it was the only car I had.

Back in the 80's I drove a 51 chev 4door, a 51 2door around for the same reason... They were all I had(all I wanted) Both were original, and the 2 door had skirts and a visor, neither had very good heat though...LOL
Also had a 52 chev PU, and a 54 chev PU that I drove at various points, YEAR ROUND!!!

I watch a 72 Cutlas drive by my work for I can`t count how many winters. Funny I seem to notice the car more in the winter.

Snow is just water in 'time release' form.

its not the snow thats the problem, its the lack of upkeep, and the crap under the snow that cranks the rest of us up.

You don't get many years out of the body in a maritime climate. When I sold my 88 Caprice wagon at the end of 2006, I could count on one hand how many of those 80s B body wagons were still on the road around these parts.
