looking for a 70 GTO

A guy I work with has been given the go-ahead from his wife to buy an old car.
His first choice is a 70 GTO, and his budget is up to 15,000.
Anything out there?

Yeah, I know, that's why it's got to be an incomplete car/project. I've tried to convince him to raise his budget and buy a complete car because he's not a mechanic by any means, and he's not really knowledgeable at all on these.

I think if you shop wisely, and be patient you will find a decent driver for $15,000. It will be a car with needs, but not a basket case or incomplete. There was one on Toronto kijiji last fall for under $20k that was a decent car. Post a wanted ad on kijiji is a good start. There is not a lot of cash buyers for old undriven cars right now, so it's a buyer's market.

I agree with Earl-I think a driver can be had for 15 especially in the states

a friend recently bought this nicely restored one for far less than I would have expected

There was a silver conv't with red interior GTO for sale around Vancouver area last
year. It was for sale forever. It was about a '69 I think. Lots of miles on it, if I
remember correctly. I think it started around 20 something and after lots of
months it dropped to 18. I can't recall whether it went down less than that though.
I just remember that it was for sale forever.........good luck.

Thanks guys for all the tips, I've passed most of them on to the "buyer".

He hasn't even acknowledged receiving them , so I'm not wasting any more time on this until he shows that he's REALLY interested and not just running off at the mouth.evileye
