they usually dont emulsify, from what i,ve been taught. the regular oil wont stay "mixed" with the slipperyer synthetic, and keeps seperating. this is what i was taught. who knows how they make semi synthetic?

That had me wondering too... how does a "synthetic blend" work?
However, since this post, I did some googling and everwhere seems to say they do mix and no harm done.... don't know what to believe.

i would prolly believe the newer info that you found, as for they tought us this back in my first year of college, and back then, synthetic and semi synthetic was fairly new to the automotive world. so there is a very good chance, that my info is wrong nowadays.
