Off to the "New" Car Show

Just heading out to the Elbow River Casino for the Sunday morning "cheap" breakfast then over to The Big Four for the 2011 New Car Show. I don't need anything new vehicle-wise , but I'm curious to see the latest in Fuel Sippers, Grocery Grabbers, Land Barges, Econo-boxes, Rice-rockets, and Modern Day Muscle-Machines. No doubt Bentley and Aston Martin will have displays, but I'll remain true to our own Cadillac stand and grab a booklet or two.

It costs nothing to dreamwink

I heard that there are over 200 Bentley orders frrom Calgary alone this year, that is about total worldwide annual production isn't it?

There's a wak of Bentleys sold here each year. Also Aston Martins and hi end Jags. Suprisingly the Lambo dealer's in Vancouver however we have a used lambo guy at ZR Auto here in Calgary.

There's a display of a re-hashed '58 Corvette a guy is marketing like a new car!
Picture to follow tonight. I couldn't get near the rep to ask questions........a fair amount of people interested in this onebiggrin. The rep/car comes from "The Rod Shop" here in Calgary.

You go to these events and see these hi-rollers buying this stuff.....you wonder where the money comes from. Oil or Visa?

The Rod Shop has partnered up with CRC Corvette Conversions as the Only Canadian Dealer/Installer

In 1994 the first prototype was started on a C4 Corvette. The concept was very unique and many inquiries came in on how to purchase this car. This interest sparked a parallel project, which started with a C5 Corvette and several months of hand shaping the new design. Inspired by the classic 62 Corvette, Dougs new design took advantage of the larger C5 platform. He chose to use computers in the design process to ensure precision of the body panels and the ability to repeat the same exact structure each time. Resolutions (now REALADI), an organization within Boeing Phantom Works, was hired to scan the design and convert it to a 3D CAD program (3-dimensional computer aided design) using reverse engineering technology. This same technology is used in the airplane designs and the NASA Space Shuttle program

i think its the modern windshield frame that literally takes away from the car. all of that nice chrome that makes the top of that car is gone.
