Winter project....s just about done

I started out the winter with swapping my m22 for a Tremec 5 speed. This was going to be the only thing that I was going to do. Ya right  disbelief
The 5 speed is in, new carpet installed and seats back in. I am just waiting for a new driveshaft that should be ready this week.

While I had most of the interior out I got looking at my dash and figured it could use a bit of a freshening. I ended up taking it all apart, repainting the dash and gauge pods and even had my old black dash pad repaired and dyed blue.

The car is still up on jack stands waiting for the driveshaft so about a 1 1/2 weeks ago  I got another bright idea. Why not do the jeep power steering box swap?? Hmmmmm. I ordered the inserts from Lee. Off to pick n pull. found a box from a 98 Grand Cherokee with just less than 100k and no signs of leaks. I pulled the old box out of the Beaumont tonight and finished painting the new box. I should be able to finish it in a couple of hours. This was the easiest of the projects by far.
Soooo, if this recent warm weather holds out we may have all the snow gone by April or so and be able to test this thing out. I am planning on taking the Beaumont on a trip to Super Chevy in Spokane in August.

that beaumont never gave me any grief either

I found a couple poor photos of it in 1995 if you want me to send them along-I seen the business card of the guy I sold it to also Charles Bakula

Roads are drying up finally but the gravel on the streets is bad. I took it out of the garage today for a short jaunt around the block and then onto the driveway for a spring bath. Feels nice to get behind the wheel again after this long winter. The tranny shifts real nice in the few gears I was able to grab on my very short drive. The steering has a much better feel to it also with the jeep box.

Maybe the city will get out there and get these streets cleaned off soon.
