Didn't they call those ramblers with that color combo "Scramblers"? A special model? Just wondering.

Formerly the Rambler American,

With the help of Hurst Products Corp., a specail Rogue offer was built exclusively during 1969. It was called the Hurst SC/Rambler and original programming called for a limited run of just 500 units, but supply was far outstripped by demand. Ultimately, three runs of this model were made.

They are known as A, B, and A' (version 2) cars. Group A had special application red, white and blue exterior finish. The other groups were similar with the paint and graphics differences. The A Group, had the major portion of the bodysides painted red, with a blue racing stripe traveling down the middle of the body and across the roof and deck. There was also a large blue arrow. pointing towards the hood scoop. The second, or B Group of Hurst SC/Ramblers were finished more conservatively. They had a largely white exterior, with narrow red and blue stripes. The third group, A' (version 2) reverted to the original, or A, style.

1969 SC/Rambler - Series 01 - V8, Series Number - 01, Body/Style Number - 6909-7, Body Type & Seating - 2d HT-6P, Factory Price $2,998, Shipping Weight - 2,988 lbs., Production Total - 1,512

Engine Base V8: AMX 390 cid/315 hp, advertised torque: 425 at 3200 rpm, 10.2:1 compression, forged crank & rods, hydraulic valve lifters. Carburetor: Carter AFB four-barrel, dual exhaust standard.

Transmission: four-speed all-synchromesh close-ratio manual.

Rear Axle: twin-grip differential, 3.54:1 axle ratio.

25 years ago in a plce very similar to the one you're showing I found a 56 Eldorado coupe, originally owned by the Iran ambassador, I had no money, don't know where it endedup...

It seems to me that I've this car talked about (with pics) on the internet. If I can only remember where. The same owner (on your side of the pond) has a bunch of other classics. They are all in rough, but restorable shape.
