1969 LeMans HO - Feature in Smoke Signals

I recieved my Smoke Signals today and I thought I would share the Feature Car. It is a 1969 Lemans 350 HO 330 HP car. The engine is described as a smaller displacement RA III engine in the article by noted Pontiac author Don Keefe.

I think this car is pretty much everyone's idea of a muscle car, fairly nondescript body, dog dishes with red lines and a 330 HP mill. It was ordered into the family dealership by the Grandfather of the current owner. It was delivered to a friend and PDI'd by the owner's father. The car was lightly used and spent 25 years in a service garage until it was traded back to the dealership. The owner George Scott recieved the car from his father after his second tour of duty in Iraq.

LeMans HO - Feature in Smoke Signals

I can scan some from the magazine later this evening. The only front view is the across two pages, so likely too big for my scanner bed. Stand by.

Yes, it is a 69. No vent windows, tail lights that settle into recessed in the top of the bumper rather than squarely in it, column mounted ignition, etc...

I have some neat old late 1960s into the early 1970s Pontiac performance cars brochures. They tend to be in a big format (not scanner friendly) plus I don't want to crease or damage them. The 1969 version shows a Tempest 2-door post with the H.O. stripes but it is in fact a Sprint OHC6. Most people don't realize the Tempest Sprint was made through 1969.

Very nice car. 350-330 hp, I would like to know how high the compression ratio is. I never really liked the big nose on the Pontiacs from 68-70 when they were new but I sure like them now!

Big valve heads and 10:1 CR plus dual exhausts = 330 HP
