Would have liked something wider, had 15x255's TA's before, but I wanted skirt clearance and a tire that was at least 27" in diameter. The next option would have been 18's to get something filling up the wheelwell, too big for this car imop. So the Firestones were it. This is currently the top rated Ultra summer performance tire at the Tire Rack. Two days and they were at my door. The wheels were bought in March in SC at the PeeDee run to the sun in Myrtle beach. $195 each. Too good to pass up. Friend works at OK tire and has the shop on Sundays! The owner came in as well to see the car. Everything balanced very well. Drives firm but tracks awsome.
They have totaly changed this cars attitude, actually looks shorter as it drives by (brother racing by in it this afternoon!). I like it so far.
Mocking up a C3 front disc system with Wilwood to be installed as well.
A combo of Classic and Modern..no? You really have to see it in the skin to appreciate it.
What do you think?

Wasn't sure what some of the purists might think of what I've been doing, but as far as attitude and performance, the car has certainly come a long way since I picked up. I'm really having some fun with it with not too much invested. It certainly garners a lot of attention on the road .... you just never see them anymore.

I'm a old set in my ways type of guy and as soon as someone says 17" i'm thinking here we go again. these might change my mind, they definitely do look good
..our 20's plus the air-ride totally changed the look of our car. My son picked Ions which are a little less "retro" than Torq Thrusts (which I'm partial to..) but they've grown on me and now I love 'em...and when she's slammed she looks great...just have to watch for speed bumps!!
