Question about 65 Beaumont value......

I live in Calgary, and have seen the ad for a 65 Beaumont in Edmonton Kijiji for months. http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1965-BEAUMONT-2-DOOR-WOW-WHAT-A-DEAL-W0QQAdIdZ275407172 Does anyone know the owner, or know what sort of price is proper for this car? He has dropped from $7000 - $4800 in the past year or so. I am very interested in this car, but don't want to waste my time driving up to see it, if it's over priced or a basket case. Seems like a great deal @ $4800.

Any input would be great!

I have a 350hp 350 to stick in that thing if it's what it appears to be. With a little engine bay paint, and some door jamb paint work, what would it be worth?

It looks like a scuff and splatter job to me. To not even prep the door jams for paint probably gives you a idea about what's under the paint. I would ask questions about it's pre-paint condition. Pictures would be nice. Somebody local could probably look at it for you but Calgary to Edmonton is a short drive for piece of mind. You don't get much for under 5K running and driving so don't expect the world. If it was closer to me I would look at it but there wouldn't be 4800 in my pocket. Bring cash because cash is king!

I'm headingto Edmonton this weekend to take a look @ the 65. Apparently it was repainted 2 years ago, and he has pics of the car prior to repaint. Everything else is all original. I'll let you guys know what I find out. And yes, the dingo balls must go!!!

Was power steering option rare for this year?

Thanks for your input!

I would highly doubt that the power steering is factory but good luck on the car. Take lots of pictures and post them.
