A friend of mine is looking to replace the dried out wiring gutter that runs across the top of the rad support on his 66 SD. It is held on by hex head self tapping screws, I think there are six of them. It is about 40" long.
Here are some pics. Any help would be appreciated.

Oooooh, very nice! Love the dog dish look.
Re the part, assuming that it is the same as a Chevelle, I'm wondering if it is available as a repro?

Just noticed, it looks like it has red lines as well. Niiiiiiiiiice. Interesting re the wiring gutter not being on the Chevelle. Did the GTO's have them?...

Thanks for the help so far guys. I hope I can help my buddy out with this illusive part.
I am not sure if GTO used this gutter but my resto guides and pictures show nothing like this. I haven't seen a reproduction part for anything on an A-body car.
chevelle didnt have it, from what I can remember.. but mine was replaced with a 65 impala gutter.. same one.. fit exactly the same. we found it by fluke. the body shop that did my 65 had an impala in there and the bodyman tried it out.. fits!! no reproductions as of yet.. but the fact the impala had it.. is making me hopeful.

I've checked 2 printed catalogs of 65 Chev suppliers and 3 other on-line catalogs for this part under 65 Chev and can't find it.
A friend who has 2 65 ImpalaSS's that he gets judged tells me his wiring harnesses go thru the front rad support.
Also check Ames on-line and it doesn't show up.
Going to Carlisle this weekend so will talk with Ames and Chev suppliers.
thats wild.. was it a lazy day on the line at the plant? mine had the wire loom (exactly like yours) on the top of the rad support. and the impala at the resto shop.. same thing. Paul even showed me the recess in the rad support for the loom to go, if it went inside the support.. but.. it's weird man. I mounted mine back on top just as I'd found it.. even though I may have done so without considering the engine swaps in the past that may have dictated a shroud replacement to allow clearance for BIG BLOCK water pump and fan.. if the ones that go through the support are shaped the same as the one in your photo.. then.. maybe they're in the right spot (through the support) if not.. I'd say there's one guy that worked the line that wanted to start a discussion in 40 plus years.. LOL
I still have mine in he original spot, and yes it's in bad shape as well.

Dave at Tin Man Auto was able to help with this part.
An interesting thread and very informative. A lot of our cars have been changed or parts taken off and discarded over the years. It's nice to know that there is information available to make them "right" again.
