64 Acadian Beaumont SD rag 4spd car

I bought a original 64 beaumont SD rag 4 spd car the other day and have found that it was a local Kamloops BC car. I think Jerel knows one of the owners but I was wondering if anybody knows where the original running gear went for this car. It doesn't look like it was pulled that long ago. This running gear wouldn't make any other car numbers match and would be a 283 4 spd. Any leads would be helpful and if somebody pulled it as a core I would be happy to replace it or buy it. Here are some photos. It is a white on black car originally and I don't think there's many of these around so somebody would remember it if they came across it. Thanks, Paul.

It actually looks worse than it is. It came with three other solid fenders, the hood is good, the trunk lid is mint, fire wall is solid,  the floor is good,  the rockers are good, and the trunk is not to bad. It has all of it's SD chrome except the rear fender and trunk lid sd emblems. The convertible specific chrome is really nice. The nice part is it came with complete and current paperwork. I will restore this one. I want to do one 64 SD and this is the one. The body on this is a snap compared to the 65 Cheetah.

When looking at the door in the pic it almost looks like they pulled the door panel off and painted around where the paper was glued down and now the paper is gone so the original white shows through? Nice find!! It will match up nicely with your 65 when you get it all done. I like the blue 65 that is in one of the pics you posted on another topic.

Good eye! I bet that's an original door in the original colour.

Your right about the doors being white and it looks like it had a black top that is now white also. Somebody did a good job repainting it before because there was no signs of white in the trunk. I like white but I'm not sure if that's a color I would pick. This car would be a oem rebuild also because it's to rare to mess with. It was stripped to bare metal at some point in it's life.

The blue 65 Sd rag I have is a 6 cyl 2 speed originally but I built it as a 4 spd car. This one is the real deal. I really can't believe I own it because I have never seen one. I'm pretty happy about it.

Well, as far as paint color goes.......remember the old Maaco? (did I spell that right) and others that used to paint cars for as low as $149.00? Although I am sure that this was a much more expensive and detailed job, it's funny to even imagine that people used to be able to change car colors for $149....... can't even afford to change clothes for that any more, lol.......... I like red and think it would look sharp redone in red next to your 65......and you will do such a good job I am sure that it will look like it was always that color..........

I'm not to sure about repo interiors but I will be looking. I took a few better photos of it with some of the pieces attached. I am happy to have this one.

These are not on the Island and are closer to you than me. The Island is pretty picked over. Anything that is in suspect condition gets bought up and parted by are local parts guys like Muscle car universe, Dave the Tin Man, and a few others in Victoria. There is more out your way and you guys have to save them. The wrecker type people are moving on and these cars are being lost to crushers. A guy like Mikes restos might be pricey but at least he's not crushing them. (YET!)

I have 1 65 SD HT 4spd, my dad has 1 65 Sd HT 4 spd, I have one 64 HT SD 4spd, one 66 Sd HT 4 spd, and one 64 Sd rag 4 spd. These are the cars I hope to get to and the rest will be for sale at some point. Some are done right now. I am lucking to find such nice cars. Believe me it's a lot of work to get them along with some $$$. I still can't believe I have this rag. If there is one more out there to find for me it's my Dads original L-79 65 SD beaumont. I guess that's what keeps me looking. If anybody knows of a dark Blue L-79 65 Sd Beaumont please let me know so I can stop this madness!

I know you use the total of all the V-8 64 SD rags but you would think that the production of 4spd rags would be much lower than that.

Well it is good to see you made it home safely with your cargo. I just got back here now a little after midnight. As you mentioned it is a small world. I was headed to a funeral in Alberta Friday and was going to Kamloops to drive the Yellowhead to Jasper and thought I'd stop in to look at a few of these old cars that have started to gather in this small town over the last year or so. I find Mike there and 5 minutes later I am introduced to Paul so it made for an enjoyable stop. I got to see first hand how you can maximize loading your trailer with parts and obviously it worked as everything made it home. Was good to meet you and I will try to contact my buddy next week to see if he knows anything about the power train.

It was good to finally meet you also. What are the chances of running into you by fluke. I guess it was ment to be. Thankyou in advance for looking into the history of this car. It would be nice to find the original running gear.
