A couple of pictures

A photographer I am not but here are a couple shots of my car. I had to have it appraised again for insurance purposes on Friday. The appraiser took about 30 pictures and said he will send them to me to use.

Not a very good picture but it does show a bit of how I re-did my dash paint and details this winter.

Hey Jerry, nice work! What color did you use for your dash and where did you find it? I'd like to repaint my dash on my 65 Acadian and it appears to be the same color. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Mike

I bugged Kelico for a week trying to get paint codes lol.. What I ended up doing was going to a paint shop to have them make up some rattle cans with the paint I wanted. We found the blue color in their old gm books and he mixed it. It was too dark. He kept lightening up until I was happy. The color turned out great, maybe not exact but very acceptable. Not fun painting this with a little tent I built myself to avoid recoloring everything in the interior.

Paul, the 5 speed is awesome. I took it for its first real cruise yesterday. I headed out on the highway. At 65 mph and 3200 rpm I shifted into 5th. The old girl dropped to about 2050 rpm, very nice. I was worried about the cam in my 496 wanting to cruise at lower rpm's in 5th. I ltook it down to 1800 rpm in 5th and she was fine.

The first gear in the tremec is a bit lower than my m22. Nailing this car in first gear at 20 mph results in extremely fast tire wear. lol gotta love it. It shifts like a dream. Next time I take it out I will wind it out to 6300rpm and see what it shifts like

Captain Beaumont, like I said, I am not much of a picture taker. Here is the only decent picture I have on the computer. I will take some more of the car one of these days.

Mike, I have 1 full can left if you like. Actually, I think they put their mix code on the can. I don't know if that code could be used at another shop or not.

You are welcome to the spare can I have if you want. I can always get another can done if I need it

Beauty! Love the aluminum-head 496! And the rest of the car too, eh?
