So after selling his 24' boat, 12' boat, and his camper I managed to get in some beaumont time. It was on his car so I hope he likes it. I mounted the fender lip trim, the rear lower rocker molding trims, and took out the old heater core. I posted two pictures so does it look better? Before and after.
The car isn't perfect but it's a good driver. My dad is pretty demanding, he has a VIP to all of my parts, and he knows it. That's because I told him that!
"So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think... The good outnumber you, and we always will." Patton Oswalt
So I took the old heater core into our parts store and they ordered up a new one. When it showed up it was only 9 1/2 " long and my factory one is 12". With a little research I find out that they all are shorter. Has anybody come across this? Apparently the GM book shows then shorter also. Now I have to fab a bracket to hold it in place and plug off the extra void. The part numbers cross reference for all 64-67 gtos without air. Any help finding the correct one would help.

Yep, NAPA gave me a shorty for my '64 Parisienne. I bought a great NOS Impala one made by Pacific (Canadian/B.C. company) off a guy in N.B. very cheap that is the large/right size.
With AC and without AC are also different cores.

Yes came across this when I did mine recently. Ended up going to rad shop and getting it re-core. I even asked the parts store if there was maybe a heavy duty one, but no dice. Must be Canadian only. Colder climate bigger heather????
Second pic looks better.

I replaced my heater core last year (66 Beaumont). It fit perfectly and was the same size as the old one. Lordco part number 94533 $76.65 plus tax.
The 66 beaumont must have a smaller heater core. I checked lordco, Duncan auto, Napa, called into the States, and nothing fit. Do you know the length of your 66sd's core? I checked into a recore also and he said 200 to 300 so that's way to much. What did they charge you to recore yours?

Ouch, you can get a whole rad done for $300.00!

That Lordco number 94533 is for a heater core from a 64-68 B-body car like a Buick Le Sabre. It is 3/4 " shorter that my OEM one but it will work. I will just attach a piece a metal to the original retaining clip to make it 3/4" longer and wala! The price is right to. I ordered two because they are hard to find around here. Thankyou for your help.
