Tire Help

Ok, so i'm looking into new wheels and rims for my 65 beaumont.  HELP!  I can't decide what set of tires or rims. Redlines with cragars?  Need some help from you experienced fellas!  thanks.

Depends on the look you want. Redlines are pretty darn expensive, but are a great look, especially with dog dishes. I've got the usual Camaro/Corvette rims on my '66 which I think look great, which would explain why they are so commonly seen. Cragars are period correct, but if I was going that route, I'd probably go with Torque Thrusts. Having said all of that...when I do it again, I will likely go with the Beaumont dog dishes. (The only questions will be...with or without trim rings?...and 15" or 17"?)
If you're not 100% sure of the look you want, keep your eyes open for used. (Afterall, any new ones become used once they are mounted.)
And post pictures!!!

Hey Mark, do a search for 65 Beaumont on this site or Google it and see what pictures with tire options come up.

I love the look of the redlines, but they are quite pricey

Thanks, I still have the original hubscaps with the spinners, not in perfect shape and was thinking of putting them back on as I want to keep it as original as possible, and I'll go with "15. Decisions, Decisions......i'd put the redlines on but the wife thinks it won't look good on the blue exterior of the car. Thanks again....

Please pardon my ignorance as I'm not overly familiar with the spinners. Are they full size wheel covers? And if they are, I would guess (and it's only a guess) that they would be for 14"?

Ok, I've decided on the torque thrusts but has anyone tried to fit the "15 rims on the 65 beaumont? Doesnt seem like alot of room on the backend to fit the 15? Im just wondering if anyone has run into problems trying to fit a 15 inch rim on the 65 beaumont sd? I think i might have to go with the 14 x 6.

15" rims are not a problem with the right back space. It the size of tires you have to watch. On the back I run 15x8 with a 255/60/15 tire. The fronts I have 15x7 with a 235/60/15 tire

Go 15" rims for sure, your tire size selection is much better.

I have pictures of my car with cragars and with ralleyes. I will see if I can get them on here.

Backspace on my wheels is 4 1/2". Here is a picture of mine now with the ralleys. I can't seem to find the pictures with cragars that I used to run

So just to let you all know, a 65 beaumont will not fit a stock 15 x 8 or 15 x 7 in the rear of the torque thrust....of any kind they don't make the backspacing to fit. Custom fit only. Might go the custom route, had some people say i should go to the weld wheel, any thoughts? I dont mind the look but i do like the TTO's better.
