Where is Your Fire Extinguisher???????

Saw that on the HAMB, said the rear whl. studs "stripped" off came the wheel. Dropped on the gas tank & "break out the masrshmellows" total loss of a newly restored car on the 1st test drive!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I got it as an email, here is the explaination from the email, what a terrible thing to have happen!

"My friend in Massachusetts just finished this 1938 Plymouth on Friday. Saturday was to be a shakedown drive of about 50 miles just to see how it was.
Driving along and the left rear wheel came off...the car dropped and the gas tank was punctured...the rest, as they say, is history. He said all 5 lug nuts had come off and the studs were stripped on the updated 1990 Explorer rear end.

All 3 pictures taken Saturday April 30 2011"

Sad. I always carry an extinguisher but I don't think the small one I have would have put that fire out.

My extinguisher is sitting on the floor behind the drivers seat.  Hope I never need to pull the pin. no

oh man that's very depressing. lost a wheel on a jeep once, never had any sparks. i have fire extinguishers all over the place but i've never carried one in the car, i will be getting a couple.
