1957 283 Valve Covers


Does anyone know how rare and how valuable original 1957 Cdn Pontiac Laurentian 283 valve covers are. They are stamped Pontiac. Thanks.

We don't see them very often. It took me a long time to get photos to post in the Library under the engine colour thread.  If they are like the ones pictured they are staggered bolt pattern. Original colour is green as shown. First photo is 55/56 colour and second is 57.

pretty rare, I had a set years that I sold for a resto project.

I picked up a second set at the Red Deer swap meet about 5 years ago,,there still on my wall.....

Those  look very good. As we said they are very rare to find. They were only used for the years 1955, 56 & 57. In 58 engines were painted the regular Chevy orange and a different style was used with a decal into the early 60's. 1963 version shown below. I would think that someone who really wanted a pair would pay about $100 per pair.
