Thanks for the replies but couldnt see how I could adapt the vacum release to the 1960 laurentian. In my search I have come across a latch off a late 80s Australian made car that is the same profile and bolts straight in. The release lever needs to be bent around so it clears the car body and a solenoid trunk release kit bought.Have fitted the kit to both cars and they work well.
