1967 beaumont convertible-15 years of waiting

As some of you may already know.

I picked up this Ragtop  2 blocks from my house last weekend.

I have known about the car for atleast 15 years in my neighbourhood.

Every so often i would ask about the car, Not for sale.

Same owners since 1976.    It has been sitting in a garage for over a decade.

The last time i saw the car in person was around 1999 or 2000.

I have been keeping tabs on it fairly closely, and last weekend, everything fell into place and i was in the right-place-at-the-right-time.  I almost missed it as it was going to be listed on Kijiji on sunday,  i bought it on saturday.  Whew, that would have sucked really bad if i missed it by a day!!!!

The car was in very sad shape from sitting, and i am sure it turned people off, the moment they saw it, but i remember what the car was like in its glory days,  so i figured it would clean up fine.

Anyway, spent the week cleaning,  it is now running, but need all the usual stuff.  i did drive it round the area, but the brakes are bad, etc, etc.  from sitting for so long.

Oh, ya,  Did i mention that the top was DOWN for the last 11 years!!!!!!It was a hell of a job to get it up, but a bake in the sun and its good to go.

Original blue top

Here is the decoding(found the build sheet in the seat back)

One of 408 1967 beaumont custom V8 convertibles

Built December 15, 1966.   Style 73667  Only a few days after the 738 changeover.

A51   C06   D55  J50  K05  M35  N40  P01  P58   Top-12

Color coded blue top(rare), buckets console option.

283, power steering and brakes.

Original color was Deepwater blue. EE

738 medium blue vinyl

Was repainted  around 75 with 1975 corvette"bright blue" They bought it in 1976.  Makes sence to me, would have looked like a million bucks back in 1976

Paint is still from 1975ish, i think the top and rear window were done around 80 or so

Powerplant is now a 350 block, but retains all the original intake, carb, brackets, etc, etc.  It will go back to a 283 for sure

Fairly solid car, but has had bodywork way way back.

Afterall, it-is-what-it-is,  a 1967 beaumont Freaking CONVERTIBLE!!!!!!! A bit of a time capsule of a car, as nothing has ever really been done to it in the last 30 years or so.  Except general tuning and maitenance.

Glad i got it,  like i said before,  i have basicly been waiting for it for 15 years

Here are some pics.

Congrats Dave! Nice to see a Beaumont rag in the hands of an appreciative owner! (And cool to see a factory blue top!)
Very neat...

PS  And the dash looks "whole".  Bonus!

It even has all the moldings and lettering, not so easy to find today. Awesome score! It rolled down the line in Oshawa the same day my Chevelle did. Who knows, they may have even followed each other!

Way to go. Anyone with a 67 beau vert is cool in my books. Even more when they had to wait to own it.
