I've heard that "Stickles Brothers" in Fredericton are also very good. I have seen some of their finished products. I would expect that Halifax has a larger pool to choose from than anywhere in NB, but I'd recommend talking to a few owners of the restored cars before choosing someone who you dont personally know. If you want the BEST, it may be worth travelling. Good Luck, and keep us updated with progress!

Six Years! I didnt expect that. I tried to hire them a couple of years ago, and it was 2 years. I wouldnt wait six years either. I fully understand why others are willing to wait for those guys. I had the same dilemma 2 years ago, it doesnt matter if you have cash in hand and are willing to pay top dollar, you just cant go buy this service easily around here. It seems most of us do it ourselves and farm out the parts we are not comfortable with. I have a great engine dude, and a great welder, but neither will 'restore' a car, but they will come and do their area of expertise.

When I was in Halifax.. A body shop by the the name of Bones is who we used.. His Shop was next to Hubley Motors. This is going back 14 years or so but at the time was one of the better shops.

You must have pretty deep pockets to have a restoration of that caliber done to the old boat. Any reputable shop around here usually charges anywhere from $70.00 - $100.00 per hr spent working on a car. NO estimates other than a ball park figure. If you don't plan on doing any of the work yourself, depending on the condition of the car of coarse it's going to be a pretty healthy bill. 500hr is nothing on project like this, so do the math....remember, you get what you pay for..
I realize what your saying, it won't be cheap and I expect it to be 50k+. Unfortunately it looks as though I may have to send my baby to the states but would prefer to have a canuck do the work.
about a dz years ago a friend of mine had a 57 chrysler hot rodded by some shop in halifax called stans speed shop. i hopped on the net and there is no mention of them anymore. not that this helps but are they still around?
...man, that's a lot of coin. As long as you don't expect to get that $$ back I wish you godspeed. We're doin' ours the old-fashioned way...lots of dad's and son's elbow grease!!! I do truly wish you the very best 'cause she'll be one beautiful '63 ragtop when you're done...!!
More power to ya, I hope you find what you are looking for. I'd love to see it afterwards. The car must have sentimental value, which usually means more than $$ value.
There are plenty of people in the Maritimes that can do what you are looking for, finding them and getting them on your project is the hard part.

I have seen great work from the Stickles Brothers shop. I have no first hand knowledge, but they have a good reputation at my local cruises. I am really not the man with the expertise to know the best place to go.
