Beaumont's at Penticton car show

One of the best car shows I've ever seen! Almost didn't make it! ...as I was forced to install a new MSD distributor at the last minute!  My Bolero Red '67SD, is an origonal #736VIN with L34/396 option (now 402),  M-21, and posi 12 bolt...with 3.73 gears.

Born on Oct 31st 1966, "Christine" is one hell'va lot of FUN! biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Dreaming of somebody allowing me to voice my opioion like 427 Carl where he follows people around and tells people how he feels about the value of cars or others that comment about numbers or value.

That may be a good technique to stop all the "wadda ya want for it?" questions at a car show - even when you no interest in selling. Pick a number you'd actually take for the car and post it front and center. It'd be fair assessment of what it's worth to me on this day.

My number would be a little south of 72k, but mine's not a 1 of 66, '67 SD ragtop either.

It wouldn't be that far south though. Dreamer? Not really. All about supply & demand and my demand might exceed your supply.

Next week/month/year things might change.

Funny thing is the MSRP on the DTS I just bought was $72,025. That's a lot of money for a car. I wonder who has that kind of money to spend on a car?

Jay Leno for one...

There must be lots of people. I see lots of BMW's, Cadillac Escalades, Lincoln Navigators, Porsches, MB's, Lexus, etc etc out there on the roads. Many of those have MSRP's well above $70k. Heck lots of 3/4 ton diesels are up there in that range.

Granted, a lot of those are probably still leased, but it means people have the cash flow to afford the payments.

Way too much money for a depreciating asset for me to even consider. At least with a classic, there is a chance (slim I know but better than a BMW 5 series) that they'll hold their value.

OK Ron, how can you know about this car and not shareno. It's sweet! Love Capri Cream. Strange that it has no console shift?

Ray, it is surprising how many guys across this country where that is just pocket change.  There was a black GTX about 50 yards from this car that I thought I had taken a picture of where the guy had 400 thousand into it, 55 in the motor.  One thing it tells me is he didn't do one thing himself and I'm sure he even paid a guy a 100 bucks an hour to put his license plates on too.  It is more of a prestige thing for them to say how much the car has in it than the story of how "they" built it. These guys aren't spending their last dollar on these cars neither.  I have been fortunate to build a house for a couple of them.
