Hi from Manitoba

I'm formerly from Ontario but now reside in Manitoba. I have been a Pontiac guy since my Dad owned a '62 Laurentian when I was a teen w/o license. I owned a '76 Astre (it did have Pontiac badges), a '76 Lemans, and a 79 Lemans. Since then I strayed (sorry). But now I'm back. I just bought a virtually unrestored original roadworthy '62 Parisienne 4door sedan.

This is what I know about the car. It was bought in December 1961.  The car seems to have been a special order, but I have no information to confirm this. I am pretty sure the car has always been in Manitoba, but cannot confirm this either. I would like to see if I can get more history. I have service records to April of '63 and the last owner included the GM Service manual (bought in '68, I have the receipt).

Under the hood is the original 283 2barrel bolted to a 2 speed Powerglide. I'm told this is combination is almost indestructible. The rear end is 3.08 but not possey. Someone wrote in the Owner's manual: Engine rebuilt 96,979 miles. But I don't know how many years ago. The odometer now reads 128,200 miles.

From what I saw sofar, options included power steering, windshield washer pump, 2 speed wipers. There is also a glass bottle under the hood which I was told holds concentrated windshield washer fliud. In the dash there is the AM radio, clock and tissue dispenser.

I have the car only a few days now, but what great ride!  I'm no mechanic, not even in the backyard, so keeping this car on the road will be a challenge, I think this forum will be a great place for advice. Here are a couple of JPEGs I captured from the website where I found the car.

Bye for now.
