G'day Guys,

                    I have just found your site and hope i can get some help. I am taking on my Uncle's 62 Laurentian for him. He is the original owner, and the car is in great shape.

It's still in his shed, i hope to get it here soon. It has 54000 original miles on it, will need  new carpet and some door panel boards, the rest is very good. He had it stripped and repainted many years ago as the paint was cracking (it's factory black) It's still in pieces at present.  All the mouldings are off the car, grille and lights are out,  all there but were not stored with the car and have pitted badly.  I'm looking for and info where i might be able to find nos, repro or good used parts. Any help would be great. Thank you.

G'day Guys,
Thank you so much for all your greetings! It's nice to find such a friendly bunch of people. I am hearing the requests for pics too.
I am restricted to sending pics until i can get the car home. Just a brief background, my Uncle is a hoarder, the Ponti is in a two vehicle garage in the back and it is boxed in, and under stuff. He even half filled it with junk. He has told me the car hasn't been on the road for around 40 years. I can remember it on blocks when i was 10 or 12. I'm 40 now. I have pestered him for a long time to let me help him get it going again, and since his recent health issues he has agreed to let me fix it up. Unfortunately he is still hard to motivate and insists his part of the deal is to clear out the junk and give the car a wash before i can take it home. I will have a go at posting a pic of one of my cars. It is only a Chevy but i do like it.

To dualquadpete, the car is RHD. I am unsure of it's build history. The 62 Chev Bel-air's of the time were assembled in the GM plant in Australia, so i am assuming the same for the Laurentians?? I believe the Impala's and the Parrisenne's of that era were full imports out of Canada. I reckon i will learn alot of new info here.
