I'm looking for that photo of Central Chev's performance store that was located on Ridout St in London. I know it was on here but I can't fnd it. If somone could post it I'd really appreciate it. I want to print it out for my co worker who visited there many times in the late 60's.
He related a story about a friend who ordered a 396 Chevelle from them in '69. He ordered it from salesman A (I won't mention names). Well, salesman B later on tried to steal the deal. Salesman C see's this and calls salesman A. Salesman A comes screeching into the dealership in his 55 Chevy and he confronts salesman B. A full out fist fight ensues. Ah, the good ol days...
I worked at a F**d dealership (don't hold it against me, Victoria F**d in Cobourg) as a "car jockey" when I was 17.
Salesman A got a special order black/tan Lariat pick-up ordered in for a customer. Beautiful truck. When it arrived, Salesman B decided to move it in a hurry (the lot was a skating rink that Winter day), and the Lariat slide pretty quickly into the front end of another pick up. Salesman A saw this, and ran out to confront Salesman B. It was funny seeing both salesman in their slippery dress shoes trying to get footing while swinging away at each other! Needless to say, the customer didn't get his Lariat for another 2 weeks until the mechanics could secretly fix it (shhhhhhhhh!).

I'm getting a real kick hearing all these stories my co worker has from back in the day. In 1967 he was working the lube rack at a Pontiac dealer in Woodstock. He was working on a 67 Grand Parisienne that needed a tire repair. He climbed into the trunk to secure the spare. A tech walked up and closed the trunk lid on him. Only two problems- the keys were in his pocket and he was severely claustrophobic. He freaked out and started punching and kicking, doing considerable damage to the quarter panels. They had to pry the trunk lid open to get him out! All this on a nearly new GP! Needless to say the owner of the car wasn't impressed and a technician was almost fired over his prank.
