Tilt steering wheel column for a 69 Grand Prix

I would like to get a tilt column for my 69 GP. I am not sure what other models used the same column. Would prefer blue but can easily spray it. I would also be interested in the wood steering wheel that came with these cars. Info on compatibility is more than welcome.

Welcome aboard.

I know that A-body is the same from 69-72. B-body should swap with other B-body cars from GM. The only difference will be the signal lever and the shifter handle.

Is your car floor or column shift?

1969 GP is a  'A'  Body car and I believe should swap with other ,A, bodies. More common  A  bodies to look for tillts were the Cutlass & Skylarks

Thanks for correcting me Dale. I was thinking Grand Parisienne. The A-body will work but you have to use the steering column extension from Grand Prix or Monte Carlo.

Is it a floor shift model ? I might have one out back here. I think its a newer GP like a 73-4 ? but its a floor shift style

I tried to install a '69 Parisienne tilt in my '70 Catalina and it was totally different. The mounting to the firewall and the bottom on the column...

 Your Grand is American?

Thanks for the quick replies. It's a console shift and I am guessing it is a Canadian model as it was purchased new in Victoria. I actually don't mind where the non-tilt wheel sits but there are those times when I just like the wheel a little lower. Is there a paint code for the interior blue? It's a plain jane J model, but it is solid with no more than a smattering of rust. I haven't owned one of these for over 25 years but it was always in my blood, so when this one came up for sale I decided I needed a new project.

He is great to deal with.

That's a great idea, he's about 30 minutes from where I live. Might just have to take a drive.

It has the stock 400 still in it. I wish it was a 428 but these cars don't come up very often here at a price I can afford so I will happily enjoy the 400. I've been a Zappa fan for as long as I can remember. I actually went an saw his son perform when he came to town.
