I must be getting old! I can't remember if the carpet goes under the shift boot or if I cut an opening in the carpet to go around the boot.
This is on a 65 4 speed with console.
I know on the bench seat cars with 4 speed the boot screws down on top of the carpet but I am not sure it's the same way on the console cars. It seems like the boot would not seal well to the hump if the carpet is between the boot and the sheet metal. A boot screwed right to bare metal would be a better seal I would think.
