1966 Canadian Chevy II Station Wagon, 1 owner, 40k miles -- For Sale

I bought this car in Ontario, imported it into the states and have been driving it daily since then.  Everything works on this car and almost everything is original.  I have the original owners manual and Protecto plate.

This car was rustproofed when new, oiled many times over the years.  It was stored in the mid 90's when the original owner stopped driving.  When she passed in 2001 the ownership went to her daughter.  At some point, she discovered the floor was weak and the floor pans were replaced at a local bodyshop.  Frame rails and rear floor are solid, the worst area is the spare tire well that is rusted out.  The tailgate is in very good condition and the manual window rolls up and down without a hitch.  Interior is entirely original except for replacement rubber floor mat.  194 6 cyl motor runs out fine and powerglide trans works as it should.  I have had the car on the highway and around town without any problems.  Steering wheel is a classic beauty, an identical one just sold on eBay for $300.  Original radio delete car and no radio has ever been installed in the car.  All windows and locks work like new along with the dash cluster.

If I keep this car it will become a 327, 4 spd, posi driver.  I have all the parts necessary to convert this car including the 4 spd hump for the trans tunnel.  After driving the car this summer, I feel confident it could be kept in it's original condition and summer driven for a long time.  I just know, I'm not the guy to do that.  I haven't had a manual shift car in a while and really want to put one together.

The asking price is $8,500 and I will probably keep it for sale until I go to Florida and if it is still in my shop next spring the conversion will begin.  I hope you enjoy the pictures even if your not interested in owning the car.  Since the pictures were taken, I removed the original rear shocks and installed a used set of over loads I had on hand.  This not only raised the rear a couple inches but it rides better over the bumps and does not sag when cargo is loaded in the rear area.  Please email  Norm,  Halletts1@chartermi.net  with questions, more info, pictures, etc. etc.

That is one nice looking ride. It would be a real good candidate for a V8- 4 speed,

I have had the unfortunate experience of running this car on a 7 day eBay auction with the reserve meant on the first day, no higher bidders and now the winner says he has changed his mind.

I was asking $8,500 for the car, the reserve on the auction was $7,500.  The car sold for $7,500 and now I don't have a buyer.

The unfortunate part for me is I had my eye on another car and told the seller I would buy it for $7,000 when this car sold.  The only reason this car is for sale is it is too original for me to modify.  Someone will do it, I just don't want to be the one.

Bottom line is this car drives like a 40k mile car and has no issues what so ever.  I have been using it for daily trips around town and the occasional short highway run.

I need $7,000 this week in order to buy the other car I want very much.

Please email me if your at all interested or have any questions what so ever.  The car I want to buy is in Minnesota and I live in Michigan, so I may be able to help with transport for cost of fuel.  Halletts1@chartermi.net

Sold, Sold, Sold.    Unfortunately no Canadian's stepped up so it stayed in the U.S.  It is in Davison, MI only about 70 miles from the border.
